BSc graduates, Master students, Master graduates and PhD students
Students in relevant disciplines, urban planners, designers and artists can be also considered, depending on portfolio, statement of interest and software skills.
Participants need to bring their own laptops.
Software Requirements: Adobe Creative Suite, 3D Max and SketchUp. Grasshopper is encouraged.

Carlo Scarpa is a unique figure among the modern architects of the 20th century. Born and raised in Venice and the Veneto region, Scarpa transformed the ancient city and sites in the wider area by weaving the most modern of spatial conceptions into their material fabric. In his architecture and curatorial work, he joined different worlds, revised lost crafts, paying particular attention to place, time, ritual, detail and water, including the experience of the user to a degree rarely found elsewhere in modern architecture. At the same time he introduced entirely new structures, construction and materials in sensitive historic contexts. Our contemporary challenges related to climate change, globalisation, tourism and migration, and the sustainability of our historic urban environments can greatly benefit from Scarpa's radical thinking and imaginative interventions.
PROGRAMME OUTCOME
• This studio will explore the architecture and art of display of Scarpa, and their relationship to his native city, Venice.
• You will visit the Venice Biennale. Tickets are included in the programme.
• All participants receive the certificate from The Bartlett School of Architecture, University College London, number 1 in the world in 2019 for Architecture / Built Environment Subjects in the renowned QS World Rankings.

Professor of Architecture and Spatial Design, The Bartlett School of Architecture , Faculty of the Built Environment
Psarra is Professor at the Bartlett School of Architecture. Before she had been appointment at UCL, she was Associate Professor at the University of Michigan and Lecturer/Senior Lecturer at Cardiff University. She is editorial board member of Thésis (Brazil 2016-) and Associate Editor of The Journal of Space Syntax (2011-2015).
She has won first prizes in international architectural competitions. Her design work has been recognised through journal articles (16 publications), exhibition catalogues and 13 international exhibitions (Venice Biennale, George Pompidou Centre, The RIBA).
Through enterprise, she has collaborated with leading international institutions, practices and local government (The Natural History Museum, London; The Museum of Modern Art, MoMA, New York; among others).
