Teaching language through art
Join our brand new interactive course for language educators. You get the opportunity to develop your language teaching skills in an international environment. Participants have workshops and brainstorming sessions which focus on using works of art as a tool in language learning classroom. In addition to classes and workshops led by expert facilitators, the course includes visits to cultural spaces and museums, with time to explore and find inspiration.

The course takes place in Venice, Italy. The city is incredibly international with a wide range of cultures represented in the artwork displayed.

COURSE FEATURES
The new course focuses on giving educators lots of practice in art and language integrated learning.
WHO CAN JOIN?
Educators working with students in a language learning capacity. No prior education requirement apply for this course. One institution can send up to 20 participants per course.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Educators will have a greater understanding of the following:

  • Using art in language learning
  • Inclusion and diversity
  • Content and language integrated learning.
Educators will become more comfortable developing activities and lessons that incorporate works of art in their language learning goals. Educators will work collaboratively to develop lesson ideas as a group.
4 LESSON PLANS
Teachers will walk away from the course with new methodology, 4+ completed lesson plans, and tools which can immediately be brought back into their second language classroom.
PROFESSIONAL NETWORK
You do networking with European colleagues. Many teachers use hands-on opportunities to plan common international projects.
HOW TO GET ERASMUS+ FUNDING?
Your school/company/organisation can apply for Erasmus+ funding to cover tuition fees, travel and accommodation expenses. The funding opportunity is called Erasmus Plus Key Action 1 (KA101 for schools and KA104 for other educators).
